Teen indicted in fatal stabbing of another student at a high school track meet in Texas

A prosecutor says a Texas teen accused of fatally stabbing another student during an altercation at a high school track meet in suburban Dallas has been indicted on a murder charge. Collin County District Attorney Greg Willis said Tuesday that a grand jury indicted Karmelo Anthony in the death of 17-year-old Austin Metcalf. Willis said the April 2 stabbing at the school stadium in Frisco “struck a deep nerve.” Anthony’s attorney, Mike Howard, indicated that he will argue that Anthony acted in self-defense. Anthony was 17 when the stabbing happened and is now 18.

Shane Gillis to host ESPN’s award ceremony, the ESPYS

Shane Gills will host ESPN’s annual awards show, the ESPYS. The ceremony, which honors the top athletes and sports moments of the past year, will be held in Los Angeles on July 16 and broadcast live on ESPN. The 37-year-old Gillis is one of the nation’s most successful touring comics and the creator and star of the Netflix series “Tires.” He also hosts “Matt and Shane’s Secret Podcast” with fellow comedian Matt McCusker. The ESPYS began in 1993 and benefit the V Foundation for Cancer Research, the charity founded by ESPN and the late basketball coach Jim Valvano at the first ESPYS ceremony.

Noah Syndergaard signs a minor league deal with the White Sox

Noah Syndergaard will attempt to make a comeback with the Chicago White Sox, who have signed the veteran right-hander to a minor league deal. Syndergaard has reported to the team’s spring complex in Glendale, Arizona. The 32-year-old last pitched in the majors in 2023, when he was cut by Cleveland. He went 2-6 with a 6.50 ERA in 18 combined starts for the Guardians and Los Angeles Dodgers that year. Nicknamed “Thor” for his long blond hair and 6-foot-6 frame, Syndergaard debuted for the New York Mets in 2015 and won a World Series start that season. He was an All-Star in 2016, but injuries have sidetracked his career.

Padres star Tatis sues Big League Advance in attempt to get out of future earnings deal

San Diego Padres star Fernando Tatis Jr. is suing Big League Advance in an attempt to void the future earnings contract he signed as a 17-year-old minor leaguer that could cost him about $34 million. The lawsuit, filed in San Diego County Superior Court, accuses BLA of using predatory tactics to lure him into an “investment deal” that was actually an illegal loan. The suit alleges BLA misrepresented itself to Tatis, hiding its unlicensed status and pushing him into loan terms banned by California’s consumer protection laws. Attorney Robert Hertzberg said the suit also seeks public injunctive relief to protect young athletes from such deals.

OpenAI scrubs mention of Jony Ive partnership after judge’s ruling over trademark dispute

A budding partnership between OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and legendary iPhone designer Jony Ive to develop a new artificial intelligence hardware product has hit a legal snag after a federal judge ruled they must temporarily stop marketing the new venture. OpenAI last month announced it was buying io Products, a product and engineering company co-founded by Ive, in a deal valued at nearly $6.5 billion. But it quickly faced a trademark complaint from a startup with a similarly sounding name, IYO, which is also developing AI hardware that it had pitched to Altman’s personal investment firm and Ive’s design firm in 2022.

Man gets stuck in chimney while trying to get his dog out of a locked building

Firefighters rescued a man who got stuck in the chimney of a Connecticut parks building while trying to retrieve his dog. The dog was trapped in a bathroom when the doors automatically locked for the night. The man was found Sunday morning and removed without injury after firefighters were forced to remove parts of the chimney and the building. He was charged with charged with burglary, trespassing and criminal mischief. It’s not clear how the dog got locked in the bathroom, where the doors automatically lock at 10 p.m. each night.

President Donald Trump’s media company plans to  buy back up to $400 million of its stock, which have lost 46% of their value this year. Trump Media and Technology Group, which operates the Truth Social media platform, said Monday that the acquisition will improve financial flexibility. Companies can drive their stock higher by acquiring or removing the number of company shares outstanding. Shares of Trump Media rose just over 2% Monday. But the shares appeared to peak about a month after the company went public in late March. Shares have been on a steady, downward trajectory since.

6 reported dead and 2 missing after a boat capsizes on Lake Tahoe in California

Officials say six people were confirmed dead and two others were missing after a boat capsized on Lake Tahoe in California. The U.S. Coast Guard and the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office responded Saturday afternoon to D.L. Bliss State Park following reports of 10 people in the water. Two people were rescued and taken to a local hospital. Winds of about 30 knots and swells of up to 8 feet were reported around the time the 27-foot old Chris-Craft vessel flipped over. Rescue workers and divers searched the area Saturday evening and resumed their search Sunday morning before the Coast Guard suspended its search.

Manager Brian Snitker said before the Braves’ game Saturday that Sale felt discomfort while doing exercises Friday. Tests revealed the fracture that sidelined Sale. In his previous start, Sale sprinted off the mound and made a diving stop of a grounder hit by the Mets’ Juan Soto and threw him out for the first out in the ninth. He then struck out Pete Alonso and was lifted after allowing a single to Brandon Nimmo. Sale is 5-4 and has a 2.52 ERA through 15 starts this season.

Flooding and rock slides close heavily damaged I-40 section in Smoky Mountains

Heavy rain, flooding and a rock slide have again closed a section of the major cross country highway Interstate 40 along its narrow corridor through the Great Smoky Mountains. Engineers say they expect the road to be closed at least two weeks. The slide and flood happened Wednesday afternoon around mile marker 450 in Tennessee, just to the west of the state line with North Carolina. The damaged section is part of 12 miles of I-40 in North Carolina and Tennessee that was washed away or heavily damaged by flooding that roared through the Pigeon River gorge during Hurricane Helene in late September. Crews reopened one narrow lane in each direction in March.

Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Dennis Santana was suspended four games and fined an undisclosed amount by Major League Baseball a day after he was involved in an altercation with a fan. Santana is appealing the decision by the league and can continue to play while the situation is being reviewed. During the second game of the Pirates’ doubleheader with the Detroit Tigers on Thursday, Santana was in the bullpen when he was seen at one point leaping and swiping at the person. He said after the game the fan “crossed the line.”

Sanders was accused of driving a Dodge TRX pickup truck 101 mph (163 kilometers per hour) on a suburban Cleveland interstate earlier this week. The Strongsville Police Department stopped Sanders at about 12:30 a.m. Tuesday in a 60 mph (97 kilometers per hour) zone on Interstate 71 near the Ohio Turnpike, according to a report provided to local media. That ticket came after he was stopped by the Ohio State Patrol on June 5 in Brunswick Hills, Ohio. Sanders was pulled over for going 91 mph (147 kilometers per hour) in a 65 mph (105 kilometer) zone, Ohio State Patrol told WKBN-TV.

He won the playoff. That means Woods will be among 264 players competing for 64 spots in the match play portion. The U.S. Junior is July 21-26 at Trinity Forest in Dallas. Tiger Woods won the U.S. Junior three straight times. Charlie Woods last year qualified for the U.S. Junior Amateur. But he shot 82-80 and didn’t advance to match play.

The Tampa Bay Rays overcame an eight-run deficit to beat the Baltimore Orioles 12-8 on Wednesday night in the largest comeback in the majors this season. Tampa Bay matched the biggest comeback in franchise history. The Rays also rallied from eight down in a 10-8 victory over the Los Angeles Angels on Aug. 18, 2012, and in a 10-9 win over Toronto on July 25, 2009. The Orioles last gave away an eight-run lead on April 28, 2017, in a 14-11 loss to the New York Yankees. The largest blown lead in franchise history came in a 14-13 loss to  Detroit on April 25, 1901, when the team was based in Milwaukee. Baltimore had an eight-run second inning.

The Stanley Cup is a little banged up, thanks to the Florida Panthers’ celebration of back-to-back titles. The bowl of the famous trophy is cracked and the bottom is dented. The Panthers won their second consecutive championship on home ice Tuesday night, beating Edmonton in six games. The team, following decades of tradition, partied with the Cup well into Wednesday. The 131-year-old Cup has been damaged many times over the past century and is considered fairly easy to repair. That’s the plan ahead of Sunday’s celebration parade.

Archaeologists unearth foundation of 1760s schoolhouse for Black children

Archaeologists in Virginia have unearthed the foundation of a building from the 1700s that once supported the nation’s oldest surviving schoolhouse for Black children. William & Mary announced the discovery on Wednesday. The university in Williamsburg said the foundation is nearly completely intact. Archaeologists also uncovered a cellar that is layered with centuries of artifacts, including slate pencil fragments and jewelry. The schoolhouse was later used as a dormitory, housing some of the first generations of American women to attend college in the 1920s. The Williamsburg Bray School taught hundreds of mostly enslaved students in the 1760s.

The Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders say they are getting a serious increase in pay. One of the cheerleaders has said during the second season of the Netflix series “America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders” that the members are getting a 400% boost in pay. The cheerleaders have been pushing for pay increases for years. In 2019, the Cowboys settled a lawsuit with a former cheerleader that led to the squad doubling the per-game pay, from $200 to $400. The latest raise is four times that.

Honda recalls more than 259,000 cars across the US due to brake pedal issue

Honda is recalling more than 259,000 of its cars across the U.S. due to a problem that can cause the brake pedal to shift out of position, potentially interfering with a driver’s ability to stop or slow down. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the recall covers certain Honda Pilots between model years 2023 and 2025 — as well cars under the auto maker’s luxury Acura brand: 2021-2025 Acura TLX and 2023-2025 Acura MDX vehicles. The brake pedal pivot pin in some of these vehicles was not secured properly during production. Honda estimates that just 1% of these vehicles have this issue. As a remedy, dealers will inspect the vehicles and replace the brake pedal assembly if necessary, free of charge.

The Tampa Bay Rays say they are in “exclusive discussions” with a Florida investment group for a potential sale of the team. The Rays are valued at $1.25 billion, according to Forbes magazine. Stuart Sternberg bought the Major League Baseball club for $200 million in 2004. The potential sale comes at a precarious time for the Rays and their home ballpark. They are playing this season at the spring training home of the New York Yankees in Tampa after the roof of Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg was heavily damaged during Hurricane Milton last October.

They also include some surprises, and movies both less bombastic and less enduring. Caitlin Clark had 20 points, six assists and four 3-pointers and the Indiana Fever beat the Connecticut Sun 88-71 in a physical game that included three late ejections. With 46.1 seconds left in the fourth quarter, Connecticut guard Jacy Sheldon made a steal and raced the other way before being wrapped up by Sophie Cunningham under the basket for a hard foul. Sheldon got up quicky and got into a shoving match with Cunningham, leading to Cunningham, Sheldon and Lindsay Allen all getting ejected. Sheldon was also the center of another official review in the third quarter after she poked Clark in the eye and then Marina Mabrey came in late to shove Clark to the floor. Indiana secured a spot in the Commissioner’s Cup.

Supreme Court order gives religious organizations new chance to challenge New York abortion rule

The Supreme Court is ordering a New York court to take a new look at whether some religious organizations should be excluded from a state regulation requiring health insurance plans to cover abortions. The justices acted Monday after the court unanimously ruled earlier in June that Wisconsin discriminated against a Catholic charity by forcing it to pay state unemployment taxes. The New York case poses a similar issue because the state exempts religious employers if their purpose is to spread religious values and they primarily employ and serve people of their faith. But religious groups that serve and employ people regardless of their beliefs don’t qualify for the exemption.

Two-time Indianapolis 500 winner Josef Newgarden flipped his car upside down during Sunday night’s race at Gateway outside St. Louis. Newgarden crashed midway through the race after contact with Louis Foster. Foster spun into the wall and shot across the track, stopping directly in Newgarden’s path. Newgarden was unable to avoid the direct collision and his car launched into the air, damaged the SAFER barrier, landed on its roof and then skidded for a considerable distance. The IndyCar safety crew immediately helped Newgarden from his car and he radioed his Team Penske crew he was fine.

2 detainees recaptured after escape from New Jersey immigration detention center, 2 still at large

FBI officials say two detainees who escaped from a federal immigration detention center in New Jersey last week have been recaptured, while another two remain at large. Authorities say the four men busted out of the Delaney Hall detention center in Newark during reports of disorder there. They say the men broke through an interior wall that led to an exterior one, and were able to escape from a parking lot. The FBI said Sunday that Joel Enrique Sandoval-Lopez and Joan Sebastian Castaneda-Lozada were back in custody. Franklin Norberto Bautista-Reyes and Andres Felipe Pineda-Mogollon are still on the lam.

Carlota Ciganda birdied the final two holes to win the Meijer LPGA Classic on Sunday for her first LPGA Tour victory in more than 8 1/2 years, while Lexi Thompson had two late bogeys to dash her bid to end a long drought of her own. Ciganda hit to a foot to set up her birdie on the par-4 17th, then made a 4-foot comebacker on the par-5 18th to avoid a playoff with playing partner Hye-Jin Choi. Ciganda shot a 5-under 67 — her fourth straight round in the 60s — to finish at 16-under 272. The 35-year-old Spanish player won for the first time since the 2016 Lorena Ochoa Invitational. Thompson had a 70 to tie for fourth.

Cities large and small are preparing for major demonstrations across the U.S. against President Donald Trump. That’s happening Saturday as officials urge calm, National Guard troops mobilize and Trump attends a military parade in Washington to mark the Army’s 250th anniversary. A flagship “No Kings” march and rally are planned in Philadelphia. The demonstrations are gaining additional fuel from protests flaring up over federal immigration enforcement raids. Governors and city officials are vowing to protect the right to protest and to show no tolerance for violence. Republican governors in Virginia, Texas and Missouri are mobilizing National Guard troops. Organizers say Philadelphia could see a crowd approaching 100,000 people.

His body was found hours before what was supposed to be the start of a series between the Angels and Texas Rangers. Judge blocks plan to allow immigration agents in New York City jail

A judge has blocked New York City’s mayor from letting federal immigration authorities reopen an office at the city’s main jail. New York Judge Mary Rosado’s decision Friday is a setback for Democratic Mayor Eric Adams, who issued an executive order permitting U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and other federal agencies to maintain office space at the Rikers Island jail complex. City lawmakers filed a lawsuit in April accusing Adams of entering into a “corrupt quid pro quo bargain” with the Trump administration in exchange for the U.S. Justice Department dropping criminal charges against him. Adams has repeatedly denied making a deal with the administration over the criminal case.

More than 1 million power banks recalled after some consumers report fires

More than 1.15 million power banks are under recall across the U.S. after some fires and explosions were reported by consumers. According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, electronics maker Anker Innovations is recalling certain “PowerCore 10000” power banks because the lithium-ion battery inside can overheat — posing fire and burn risks. China-based Anker has received 19 reports of fires and explosions involving these now-recalled portable chargers. That includes two minor burn injuries and 11 reports of property damage amounting to over $60,700. Consumers in possession these now-recalled chargers are urged to stop using them immediately — and contact Anker for a free replacement.

JetZero plans to build $4.7B plant in North Carolina, aims to create 14,500 jobs

A California-based company plans to build its first manufacturing plant for a next-generation passenger jet in central North Carolina. If successful, the project announced Thursday by JetZero and elected officials would create more than 14,500 jobs in a decade. Gov. Josh Stein called it the largest job commitment in North Carolina history. JetZero is developing a fixed-wing aircraft that would change the shape of passenger jetliners in the sky. The company would build the plant at Piedmont Triad International Airport in Greensboro. JetZero already has conditional jet purchase agreements with some airlines. The announcement comes with lots of economic incentives that would extend into the 2060s.

Shooting on Las Vegas Strip near Bellagio that killed 2 was livestreamed, police say

June 12, 2025

A new police report released Thursday says two people killed in a shooting over the weekend on the Las Vegas Strip captured it on video while livestreaming to their shared YouTube channel. The married victims were 43-year-old Tanisha Finley and 44-year-old Rodney Finley. Las Vegas police say the shooting on Sunday night near the Bellagio fountains was an isolated incident between the victims and the suspect who were feuding on social media. An arrest report for the suspect says the video livestream showed him firing at both victims before the cellphone falls to the ground. The livestream ends moments later when an officer on patrol in the area picks up the phone and turns it off.

Skaggs’ former agent, Ryan Hamill, said in a deposition that Skaggs told him he was using pain pills containing oxycodone, which were provided by Miley. The deposition is part of a wrongful death lawsuit filed by Skaggs’ family against the Angels in California. A former publicist for the Angels, Eric Kay, was convicted in Texas of providing the fentanyl-laced pills that an autopsy said contributed to Skaggs’ death.

The company confirmed the streamlining that was reported by several news outlets. It’s not clear how many employees are affected, but the offers were made to staff in Google’s search, advertising, research and engineering units, according to The Wall Street Journal. Google employs most of the nearly 186,000 workers on the worldwide payroll of its parent company, Alphabet Inc. Not-so-hot pursuit of burglary suspect sees police cars chase tractor excavator at walking pace

Police in South Carolina engaged in a not-so-hot pursuit as they chased a tractor excavator down a main highway for more than an hour at the speed an average adult walks. Police say the chase reached speeds of 3 mph early Sunday morning. Cruisers followed with blue lights and sirens in North Charleston after the excavator damaged a building. The very slow speed pursuit went on for an hour and 12 minutes as the big piece of construction equipment with treads and a shovel would not stop. Authorities say the excavator finally got stuck, and a drone and police dog chased down the 53-year-old driver. He remains in jail on a $22,000 bond.

Most of the eruptive episodes have spewed lava for about a day or less, and the pauses between them generally last a few days.

Colorado funeral homeowner who left corpse in hearse for a over a year sentenced to 18 months

A Colorado funeral homeowner who pleaded guilty to leaving a woman’s corpse in the back of a hearse for over a year and improperly stashing the cremated remains of at least 30 people has been sentenced to 18 months in prison. Miles Harford pleaded guilty in April to one felony count of abuse of a corpse and one misdemeanor count of theft. He faced other counts that were dismissed as part of his plea agreement. His 18-month sentence is the maximum sentence under Colorado law for the charges. Harford was arrested last year after authorities found cremated remains stashed throughout his rental property.

Atlanta rapper Silentó has pleaded guilty but mentally ill Wednesday to voluntary manslaughter and other charges in the 2021 shooting death of his 34-year-old cousin. The 27-year-old rapper, whose legal name is Ricky Lamar Hawk is best known for his 2015 hit song “Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae).” DeKalb County District Attorney Sherry Boston says Silentó has been sentenced to 30 years in prison. Hawk is also pleading guilty to aggravated assault, possessing a gun while committing a crime and concealing the death of another. A murder charge was dropped as part of the plea agreement. Silentó has said he has long struggled with depression and mental illness

Bison gores man in Yellowstone after visitors get too close

A New Jersey man is hurt after being gored by a bison in Yellowstone National Park. Yellowstone officials the goring happened after a large group of visitors got too close to the animal. The 30-year-old from Randolph, New Jersey, was treated for minor injuries after being gored around 9:45 a.m. Tuesday in the Old Faithful area. Park officials haven’t released the man’s name, saying what happened is still under investigation. He was the second person gored by a bison already this spring in Yellowstone. A 47-year-old Cape Coral, Florida, man was gored in the Lake Village area on May 7.

Aaron Rodgers added another ring to his collection before he even signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers. The four-time NFL MVP quarterback and Super Bowl champion said Tuesday after his first practice with the Steelers that he got married “a couple months ago.” Rodgers wore a wedding ring when he signed with the Steelers and again during drills on Tuesday. Rodgers has revealed little about his bride. During an appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show” last fall, he mentioned he was dating a woman named Brittani but offered no other details.

Nancy Wilson’s stolen custom-built Telecaster guitar was recovered by police in New Jersey

Police say they’ve retrieved one of the two irreplaceable instruments owned by the rock band Heart that were stolen in Atlantic City, New Jersey, two weeks ago. Police said Tuesday they retrieved the Telecaster guitar from a woman who bought it from the theft suspect. A vintage 1966 Gibson mandolin remains unaccounted for. The Telecaster guitar was custom-made for band member Nancy Wilson. Detectives say surveillance video showed the suspect giving the Telecaster to a woman. The woman put the guitar in her vehicle parked a couple blocks from the Hard Rock Casino & Hotel, where it had been stolen. Police contacted the woman, who surrendered the guitar.

Deion Sanders hasn’t attended football camps in Boulder, Colorado, this spring. The University of Colorado said it couldn’t comment on a reason for his absence. ESPN, citing a source it did not name, said Sanders has been ill and out of the office recently. Over the weekend, his son Deion Sanders Jr. posted a livestream video on YouTube in which he said his father remains at his Texas home and “feeling well,” according to USA Today. Sanders has struggled with his left foot since having two toes amputated in 2021 because of blood clot issues while at Jackson State.

NCAA says online abuse related to sports betting declined during this year’s March Madness

Online abuse related to sports betting decreased during the NCAA’s March Madness basketball tournaments compared with the prior year. But the NCAA says people involved in the competition still received more than 3,000 threatening messages. The NCAA hired Signify Group to monitor messages directed at athletes, coaches, game officials, selection committee members and others with official roles in the tournament. Signify used both artificial intelligence and human analysts to confirm the threats and, when necessary, report them to law enforcement. Overall, the NCAA says abuse related to sports betting was down 23%. Both the men’s and women’s tournaments had relatively few major upsets.

Montana Supreme Court declares 2021 abortion restrictions unconstitutional

Montana’s Supreme Court has upheld a lower court ruling that struck down as unconstitutional several laws restricting abortion access. Among the laws that the court ruled on Monday was a ban on abortions beyond 20 weeks of gestation. They were challenged by Planned Parenthood of Montana and had been blocked since 2021 when a judge issued a preliminary injunction against them. While the case has been pending, voters passed an initiative that explicitly protects abortion rights under an amendment to the Montana Constitution.

Alabama is preparing to execute a man with nitrogen gas for the 1988 beating death of a woman. Gregory Hunt is scheduled to be put to death Tuesday at a south Alabama prison. Hunt was convicted of killing Karen Lane, a woman he had been dating for about a month. Lane was killed Aug. 2, 1988, in the Cordova apartment she shared with another woman. Prosecutors say Hunt broke into her apartment and killed her after sexually abusing her. Jurors recommended by a vote of 11-1 that he receive a death sentence.

Athletics rookie Clarke makes another spectacular catch, robs Angels’ Schanuel of home run

Rookie center fielder Denzel Clarke made yet another spectacular catch for the Athletics, this time reaching high above the wall to rob the Los Angeles Angels’ Nolan Schanuel of a home run. The Angels had one out and no one on in the bottom of the first when Schanuel launched a 1-0 splitter from Grant Holman toward left-center. Clarke raced back and planted his right foot about halfway up the wall in a perfectly timed leap and grabbed the top for support. He extended the upper half of his body several feet beyond the wall and made a backhand grab. Clarke has made several terrific catches since he debuted on May 23.

Male blood found where 3 sisters in Washington were killed, while search for their father continues

Authorities say blood discovered at a campsite where three young Washington state sisters were found dead last week belonged to a male. The development Monday comes as the search continues for their father, a former soldier with extensive survival skills. Investigators have been looking for Travis Decker since the night of May 30, when he failed to return the girls to their mother’s home after a scheduled visit. Three days later a sheriff’s deputy discovered the bodies the girls down an embankment at a campsite in the Cascade Mountains.

A runaway pet zebra has been captured in Tennessee. The Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office says Ed was captured Sunday in a pasture. He was airlifted to an animal trailer. Video posted by the sheriff’s office shows Ed wrapped in a net with his head sticking out as he is carried by the helicopter to the waiting trailer. The zebra had been on the loose since May 31. It was spotted and filmed running along Interstate 24 before disappearing into the woods. Ed quickly became the subject of internet memes.

ABC News has suspended veteran correspondent Terry Moran for a since-deleted social media post calling Trump administration deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller a “world class hater.” Moran was quickly condemned by officials in the Republican administration, including Vice President J.D. Vance, who says Americans should think of this when they watch ABC News’ coverage. Moran’s Sunday morning post on X said President Donald Trump is a hater, too, but for Miller, “his hatreds are his spiritual nourishment.” New York-based ABC News says it stands for objectivity and impartiality in its news coverage and “does not condone subjective personal attacks on others.”

The jury in Harvey Weinstein’s New York sex crimes retrial is set to resume deliberations. The panel of seven women and five men will resume weighing two counts of criminal sex act and one count of rape Monday. The 73-year-old former movie mogul has pleaded not guilty. One juror on Friday asked to be removed from the case, but the judge told him he had to keep deliberating. Weinstein was originally found guilty in 2020 of rape and sexual assault in a verdict considered a landmark in the #MeToo movement. The conviction was overturned, leading to his retrial.
