STURGIS, S.D. – As the 85th Sturgis Motorcycle Rally shows signs of a big year, South Dakota’s top lawman is stepping up the fight against crime.
Attorney General Marty Jackley says his team of officers and DCI agents are working hard to stop human trafficking, drug use, and violent crime.
Jackley attended Sunday’s law enforcement appreciation banquet and says they’ve already made at least one arrest tied to trafficking and caught several people using illegal drugs like meth and fentanyl.
Officers are both out in plain sight and undercover, and Jackley says public support is key, encouraging people to speak up if they see something suspicious.
So far, he says the rally has been safe and fun, and they plan to keep it that way.
