RAPID CITY, SD — Tuscon Arizona man John Parrado, 37, was arrested this morning following a lisence plate violation.
At 2am officers noted a license plate violation on a vehicle headed northbound on North Maple Avenue. Following a traffic stop Parrado gave a false name to police and detained him until his identity could be verified. When police attempted to handcuff Parrado according to RCPD Community Relations Specialist Brendyn Medina, the man “Took off running. Police pursued him on foot and he ignored multiple commands to stop. Police also observed him reach toward his front waistband area several times while running”.
Following a chase a Taser was employed and a search was conducted of the vehicle, which resulted in officers finding a BB Gun and several items which according to the RCPD tested positive for Methamphetamine. Parrado was placed under arrest for Obstruction, Resisting Arrest, Impersonation to Deceive Law Enforcement, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and an existing Warrant.
Lynzi Yelloweagle, the driver, was also taken into custody as a result of this incident, being arrested for Driving without a Valid License, No Proof of Insurance, and a Probation Hold.
