RAPID CITY, S.D. – Area athletes were in action Thursday at the Last Chance Track and Field meet, with hopes of punching a ticket to next week’s state meet.

Ty Petrocco of Sturgis solidified his trip by winning the 3,200 meters and Jack Day of Rapid City Stevens did the same by winning the 110 meter hurdles.

The Stevens relay time continues its strong season by winning the boys 4×100 and 4×200 meter relays.

Raider Elias Gillen was a double event winner in the field events for Stevens, winning the shot put and discus.

On the women’s side, Avery Marler is looking to make some noise at state as she wins the 100 meters. Her teammate Kaylie Theberge came in second place.

Ella Bradeen of Stevens captured the 200 meters and Peyton VanDeest of Spearfish won the 800 meters.

In the women’s relay races, Stevens took both the 4z100 and 4×200 meters. Rapid City Central won the 4×400.
