RAPID CITY, S.D. Weird Al Yankovic, the accordion slinging parody legend with more than four decades of comedic hits, is set to bring his offbeat energy to Summit Arena on June 24.

Yankovic became a household name in the early 1980s with parody songs that were smart, silly, and surprisingly sharp in their musicianship. Fans still talk about the early MTV classics like “Eat It,” his send up of Michael Jackson’s “Beat It,” and “Like a Surgeon,” which riffed on Madonna. As the decades rolled on, he kept reinventing himself with hits including “Smells Like Nirvana,” “White and Nerdy,” “Amish Paradise,” and “Gump.”

He has sold millions of albums, collected five Grammy Awards, and built a career on finding the sweet spot between satire and storytelling. His 2014 record “Mandatory Fun” even debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, the first comedy album in history to do so.

Along with the music, Yankovic’s live shows have earned a reputation for being part concert, part comedy performance, and part costume driven fever dream. Fans can expect deep cuts, classics, and all of the strange charm that made him one of America’s most beloved oddballs.

Tickets go on sale Friday, November 21 at 10 a.m.
