SPEARFISH, S.D. – Authorities have identified an Oracle, Arizona man who died in a single vehicle crash Thursday morning on US Highway 85 in Spearfish, SD.
Preliminary crash information indicates 82-year-old Eddie Lee Galloway, the driver of a 2001 Toyota Tacoma, was traveling northbound on US Highway 85 in a construction zone. The vehicle was equipped with a tow dolly and was pulling a Subaru Impreza. The driver lost control of the vehicle and crossed over into the median, striking a windrow of dirt near the shoulder. The vehicles overturned and separated. Galloway, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the Toyota.
Galloway was transported to Spearfish Monument Health Hospital where he died from his injuries.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
