Badlands Sabres Take Both Matches this weekend into OT

Friday, November 14
The Sabres made their way to Cody, WY to take on the Yellowstone Quake.

The Sabres started the game strong with the first two goals of the night. At 14:04 minutes left in the first period, Dayton Niedert scored assisted by Rhylan Olson and Gaven Marx. Rhylan Olson, assisted by Dayton Niedert and Sawyer Vann, scored for the second goal Al with 8:17 minutes left making the score 2-0 in the Sabres favor. With just 1:27 minutes left to go, the Quake got on the board ending the first period 2-1 Sabres.

The Quake were the first to score in the second period, making it a tie game. With 7:30 remaining in the period, Matthew Cordis, assisted by Rhylan Olson, got a backhanded goal giving the Sabres a 3-2 lead.

At the start of period three, the Quake came back with two goals, taking the lead. It didn’t take long for Rhylan Olson, assisted by Maddox Harn and Oliver Giles, to tie the game taking the game into overtime.

The two teams battle hard making it to the final 1:15 minutes of the game when the Quake got the game winning shot. The final score of the game was 4-5 resulting in an OT loss for the Sabres.

The Badlands Sabres stopped at Sheridan, WY to take on the Hawks in what came down to a battle of the goaltenders.

The two teams battle back and forth all first period with neither team scoring ending with a 0-0 on the scoreboard.

Kyyan Jahner, assisted by Justin Reams, put the Sabres on the board with a short handed goal with 11:15 left in the second period. The second period ended with a 1-0 Sabres lead.

The Hawks score making it a tie game with 3:32 minutes remaining in the third period. The third period ended in a 1-1 tie.

With 4:03 left in overtime, Kyyan Jahner rebounded and placed the puck with a winning shot right past the goaltender. Sabres win 2-1.
