BROOKINGS, S.D. – A Brookings woman won big this week on the ‘The Price is Right.’
Elaine Gullickson celebrated her 81st birthday with a trip to Los Angeles with her daughters and granddaughters. While there, they attended a taping of the TV game show, and Gullickson met host Drew Carey.
Unexpectedly, she was chosen to ‘Come on Down.’
Gullickson won a television set.
She eventually made it to the ‘Showcase Showdown,’ bidding against another contestant.
And she kept it all a secret until Tuesday (Nov. 4) morning, when she invited friends to a party at her house to watch an episode of ‘The Price is Right’.
Gullickson said — until Tuesday — even her husband was unaware she’d won the big ‘Showcase Showdown.’
