RAPID CITY, S.D. – The Rapid City Fire Department successfully contained a motor home fire this morning, preventing damage to nearby structures and resulting in no injuries.

At approximately 8:30 a.m., fire crews responded to reports of a vehicle fire in the 200 block of E Watertown Street in Rapid City. Upon arrival, crews found a motor home fully engulfed in flames.
The situation posed several challenges due to the motor home’s close proximity to a fence, an adjacent house, yard debris, and a power line. Rapid City Fire Department personnel launched an aggressive attack, quickly containing the blaze.

Their quick response and effective firefighting efforts were credited with confining the fire damage solely to the motor home, safeguarding other property in the Black Hills community.

The motor home was occupied when the fire started, but all occupants were able to evacuate safely before crews arrived. No injuries were reported.
