Stretch of Mt. Rushmore Rd Closed Starting November 10th

RAPID CITY, S.D. – A stretch of Mount Rushmore Road will close for nearly two weeks this month as crews install new sewer and storm service lines.

The closure will begin on Monday, Nov. 10, 2025, and is expected to last through Friday, Nov. 21, 2025, impacting traffic between Omaha Street and Main Street.

Dream Construction, Inc. is conducting the work in coordination with the South Dakota Department of Transportation. The affected section of Mount Rushmore Road will be closed just south of Omaha Street.

During the closure, traffic will be diverted onto Fifth Street and Omaha Street. The sidewalk in the immediate construction area will also be inaccessible to pedestrians.
