In a rowdy third game series finale at CUTX Event Center in Allen Texas the Allen Americans outscored the Rapid City Rush 6-3.
The first period saw a Chase Pauls’ goal at 18:32 immediately waved off on the ice and sent to review by the referee. The call was overturned on review and stood as a good goal. Chyzowski and Wood earning the assist.
Wilkie assisted by Mack and Wagner scored at 11:54. This goal was countered by Allen’s Morrison, assisted by Blaisdell and Spinozzi at 9:28.
An uncalled infraction, away from the play, against Brett Davis of Rapid City was quickly made right by Chase Pauls. Pauls danced with Morrison at center ice. Each earning the five for fighting major penalty.
Gildon scored the power play goal on a Wilkie slashing penalty to end the first period in a 2-2 tie.
A more subdued second period saw Ryan Wagner score his first goal of the season, assisted by Wilkie, with 33 seconds left in the second period. Rapid City went into the third period leading 3-2.
Allen scored all four goals in the third period. Anania scored at 12:32.
Harrison Blaisdell then started his run to a hat trick with a short-handed goal on a Simmons- Fischer roughing call. His two consecutive empty net goals secured the Allen Americans win.
Connor Murphy stopped 34 of 38 shots. Marco Constantini saved 29 out of 32 attempts on net.
These rivals will face off again in Rapid City at The Monument on December 11th 12th and 13th.
The next Rush home game is November 5th against the Tahoe Knight Monsters. This will be the first of 14 times these teams will meet in the regular season. Puck drops at 7:05 p.m. MDT.
