Finding Faith Through Near-Death Experiences

RAPID CITY, S.D. — For anyone who has ever lost someone they love and found themselves wondering where they went, a new podcast from local creator Amy Rose offers a message of hope and healing. It is a gentle reminder that love does not end when life does.

Amy has been walking through grief. Grief that has changed her in ways she never expected. But instead of letting it pull her backward, she chose to embrace it. In her search for understanding, she found herself drawn to near-death experiences, or NDEs. Stories from people who have died, seen what lies beyond, and returned to tell the rest of us about it.

“I can’t say enough how much it helped me,” Amy said. “Listening to people share their experiences helped me understand that my loved ones are happy where they are, and they don’t miss it here. It reaffirmed my faith in God. I know without a shadow of a doubt that we go to Him when we pass away.”

That awakening inspired There and Back Again: Stories of the Other Side, a new podcast launching its first episode today. Each episode shares the stories of people who crossed over and came back, describing love so powerful it defies words, colors beyond imagination, and the undeniable presence of God, often referred to as “the light.”

For Amy, this calling comes from deeply personal moments that shaped her faith. “It takes me back to the moment I sat next to my grandmother as she passed away from pancreatic cancer,” she said. “I was singing her favorite hymns when I broke down crying. I laid my head on her body and wept. All of a sudden, I felt a warm light inside me. It was as if I was being hugged by God. It showed me there is something more to this life. There’s no way someone in that kind of pain could feel such peace and love. What was it? Is that the love they’re feeling up there?”

She also remembers a conversation with her grandfather after his heart attack. “He told me he died for a bit and saw his brothers waiting for him,” Amy shared. “It’s one of my biggest regrets not asking him more questions. So, Grandpa, this podcast is dedicated to you.”

Many skeptics claim that the light described in NDEs is simply the brain’s response to trauma. But have they truly listened? The people Amy interviews share details they could not have possibly known, describing what doctors and nurses were doing while they were clinically dead. These stories are not fantasy. They are profound and deeply real.

Amy says the openness of those who have lived through these experiences is proof of purpose. “No one has ever turned me down when I’ve asked to hear their story,” she said. “Every one of them believes it’s their mission to share what happened. They know they were sent back for a reason.”

In There and Back Again, you will hear from doctors, scientists, and even former non-believers who are now believers. You will also hear from people who survived suicide attempts, people who endured abuse and violence, and those who came back after car and motorcycle crashes, medical emergencies, sleep apnea, and more. Each voice carries a story of hope, forgiveness, and unconditional love.

Scientists estimate that millions of people worldwide have reported near-death experiences, describing remarkably similar details across all ages, cultures, and beliefs, leaving their body, seeing loved ones who passed on, traveling through a tunnel of light, and feeling completely surrounded by peace and love.

Amy believes these stories are gifts meant to heal those left behind. “It’s incredible how similar they are,” she said. “The feeling of love, the beauty, the presence of God…. I truly believe these people were sent back to remind us that death is not the end.”

For anyone carrying the ache of loss or searching for proof that love continues, There and Back Again offers peace, hope, and the comfort of knowing that our loved ones are not gone. They are home.
