PIERRE, SD — On Monday, Governor Larry Rhoden announced that he has appointed Nick Lamb to the position of Department of Corrections Secretary.
“After an extensive interview process and aggressive national search, we found the right person that will help keep our corrections system strong and safe for both inmates and officers,” said Gov. Rhoden on the appointment. Lamb holds a Master’s Degree in Psychology, and has 31 years of experience at state-level Corrections Departments, having served in Illinois, New Mexico, and Iowa.
Lamb will be following former DOC Secretary Kellie Wasko and Deputy Secretary Brent Fluke, who will be acting as Interim Secretary until mid-November, when Lamb is expected to begin work.
