Man Arrested on Drug, Firearm Charges During Rapid City Patrol

RAPID CITY, S.D. – An extra police patrol in Rapid City led to the arrest of a local man on multiple drug and firearm charges late Wednesday night.

On October 9, around 10:50 p.m., Rapid City police officers were conducting an extra patrol in the 300 block of E. Adams Street when they encountered 18-year-old Trevor Firstintrouble of Rapid City.

During the contact, police located a loaded handgun on Firstintrouble’s person. He told officers the firearm did not belong to him. A subsequent search of his backpack uncovered a second firearm, this one with the serial number filed off.

Officers also located a “significant amount” of a substance in the backpack that field-tested positive for methamphetamine.

Firstintrouble was arrested and transported to the Pennington County Jail. He faces charges including Possession of a Controlled Substance, Distribution of a Controlled Substance, Theft of Mislaid Property, and Possession of a Firearm with an Altered Serial Number
