CUSTER, S.D. – The 2025 Black Hills Conference Cross Country Championships were held at the Rocky Knolls Country Club Thursday in Custer.
Wining the women’s race was Peyton VanDeest of Spearfish, who finished in a time of 19:11.65. Her teammate Kori Keil came in second with a time of 20:29.78.
Kira Ubence of Douglas was third, Andee Frandsen of Hill City placed fourth and Sierra Sandford of Spearfish rounded out to the top five.
For Sturgis, Lucy Hamer finished ninth and her teammate Iriz Zylstra placed 11th.
Winning the men’s race Tate Grabow of Hill City with a time of 16:43.61. Wyatt Balliew of Douglas came in second and Quinn Bruch of Sturgis was third with a time of 17:30.29.
Mason Gill of Spearfish placed fourth and his teammate Rylan VanDeest was fifth.
