BOX ELDER, S.D. – Douglas threw everything they had at the Sturgis Scoopers Thursday night, but the Scoops were able to hold on, and defeat the Patriots in four sets last night.
Sturgis won set one 25-19 and outlasted Douglas in set two, winning 25-22.
The Patriots, however, would escape set three with a 25-21 victory, forcing a fourth set.
Douglas again battled Sturgis to the very end, with Sturgis winning 25-22 to take the match 3-1.
Olivia Vliem helped lead Sturgis with 8 kills and three aces while Danica Dschaak had 10 kills.
