Small Aircraft Skids Off Runway at Rapid City Regional Airport

RAPID CITY, SD – A small aircraft was involved in an off-runway excursion this morning at Rapid City Regional Airport, according to the Rapid City Fire Department.

The incident occurred when the aircraft went off the designated paved surface of the runway. Rapid City Fire Department Station 8, which is located at the airport and handles Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) operations, responded immediately to the scene.

Authorities confirmed that there were no injuries reported as a result of the excursion. The extent of any damage to the aircraft was not immediately released.
