Deadly Attack Suspect Arrested After Rapid City Stabbing

RAPID CITY, S.D. – Police arrested a Kyle man Tuesday afternoon following a reported stabbing at a Rapid City apartment complex.

Rapid City police officers were dispatched to 20 Surfwood Drive at approximately 4:40 p.m. on Oct. 1 for a report of a stabbing that had just occurred. As police arrived, they observed a male matching the suspect’s description fleeing on foot from the building.

Officers quickly apprehended the man, identified as 26-year-old Adam Brown of Kyle.

Inside the apartment building, officers located an individual with several stab wounds. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries sustained in the incident.

According to police, a review of video footage from the area showed Brown exclaiming that he was responsible for the stabbing immediately after the attack.

Brown was placed under arrest for Attempted Murder and transported to the Pennington County Jail and booked for attempted murder at 7:45pm.
