Week 4 brought statement wins, a real upset or two, and — believe it or not — a 40-40 tie. Here’s how every game finished and what happened.
All Games & Final Scores
- Seahawks 23, Cardinals 20 (Thu) — Seattle kicked a 52-yard field goal as time expired to steal a comeback win in Arizona; Darnold threw efficiently and the Hawks’ special teams came up big.
- Steelers 24, Vikings 21 (Dublin) — Pittsburgh held on in a tight game in Ireland; the Steelers’ run game and a late field goal sealed it after Minnesota mounted a fourth-quarter surge.
- Falcons 34, Commanders 27 — Atlanta’s Michael Penix Jr. and Bijan Robinson led a big day for the Falcons while Washington hung around but came up short late.
- Bills 31, Saints 19 — Buffalo stayed unbeaten behind a balanced attack (Allen + Cook) and a defense that forced a key turnover to stop New Orleans’ rally.
- Lions 34, Browns 10 — Detroit cruised at home, getting big plays from Jared Goff and Amon-Ra St. Brown while the Browns’ offense sputtered.
- Patriots 42, Panthers 13 — New England exploded offensively (Diggs topped 100 yards) and dominated in all three phases.
- Giants 21, Chargers 18 — Rookie Jaxson Dart and the Giants pulled off an upset in East Rutherford; Chargers’ offense couldn’t get enough in the fourth.
- Eagles 31, Buccaneers 25 — Philly built an early lead and survived a late Tampa push; special teams miscues nearly changed the finish.
- Texans 26, Titans 0 — Houston’s defense pitched a shutout and C.J. Stroud ran the offense efficiently in a dominant win.
- Jaguars 26, 49ers 21 — Jacksonville’s defense forced turnovers and a special-teams score helped the Jags upset San Francisco.
- Chiefs 37, Ravens 20 — Patrick Mahomes carved up Baltimore for multiple TDs as Kansas City put distance between itself and the Ravens.
- Bears 25, Raiders 24 — Chicago escaped Las Vegas in a one-point thriller; Caleb Williams managed key late drives to secure the win.
- Rams 27, Colts 20 — L.A. came back in the second half, with big pass plays and a late TD to close out Indianapolis.
- Packers 40, Cowboys 40 (OT tie) — A wild back-and-forth produced a rare high-scoring tie; neither club could find the closing blow in overtime.
- Dolphins 27, Jets 21 (Mon) — Miami got its first win behind balanced offense and a late drive; the Jets’ miscues proved costly.
- Broncos 28, Bengals 3 (Mon) — Denver dismantled a Burrow-less Bengals unit in a blowout; the Broncos dominated early and never let off the gas.
Week 4 — Storylines & Takeaways
- The league’s parity is real. Upsets (Giants over Chargers, Jaguars over 49ers) and wild finishes underline that any team can win on any Sunday this year.
- Special teams swung games. Seahawks’ game-winning FG, Eagles/Buccaneers close finish, and other late kicks/returns changed outcomes across the week.
- Packers–Cowboys tie is a reminder ties still happen. A 40-40 OT draw leaves both clubs with interesting roster/strategy questions heading into Week 5.
- Defense can still dominate. Texans’ shutout of the Titans and Broncos’ stifling performance of the Bengals show defenses can still take over a game.
- Injuries & depth matter more than ever. Backup QBs and depth players decided several contests (and teams without healthy cores—see Cincinnati without Burrow—struggled).
- Big-name performances (and flops) will shift narratives fast. Mahomes’ big day for KC re-asserts the Chiefs’ offense; other teams need quick fixes after rocky weeks.
