Custer State Park, SD — Last Friday, thousands gathered before the crack of dawn to bear witness a yearly tradition as around 1,300 bison, representing one of the largest living herds in the world were rounded up to be counted, branded, sorted, and treated. This year’s Buffalo Roundup was the 60th anniversary of the event, and while the heat was intense and bison tired from a long journey, the excitement in the air was palpable.
