CUSTER, S.D. – In high school cross country Thursday, athletes competed at the Eldon Knudson Invitational in Custer.
Winning the girls race was Kori Keil of Spearfish, finishing in a time of 20:04.31. Taylor Harrelson of Rapid City Christian was second and Sierra Sandford of Spearfish finished in third. Lucy Hamer of Sturgis came in fourth place and Lauryn Donovan of Spearfish rounded out the top five.
Winning the boys race in a time of 17:15.15 was Lennon Clarkson of Belle Fourche. Quinn Bruch of Sturgis came in second and Mason Gill of Spearfish placed third. A pair of Custer runners, Kian Rusch and Peyton Krueger, finished in fourth and fifth place respectively.
Winning the team title for the girls was Spearfish, followed by Belle Fourche in second and Custer in third.
Custer won the boys team title with Spearfish second and Belle Fourche taking third.
