HILL CITY, S.D. – The Hill City Volunteer Fire Department assisted an injured horseback rider and their horse Saturday evening in the Black Elk Wilderness area.
Firefighters were dispatched to the scene and were able to locate the rider and the horse. The team successfully helped both the individual and the animal return to Highway 244, where a waiting ambulance transported the rider.
