Idaho Woman Dies in Black Hills Motorcycle Crash

RAPID CITY, S.D. – A 27-year-old woman from McCall, Idaho, died in a single-motorcycle crash Saturday evening seven miles south of Keystone on US Highway 16A.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol reported the fatal crash occurred at approximately 5:05 p.m. The woman, whose identity has not been released pending notification of family, was driving a 2015 Husqvarna FE501 motorcycle.

Preliminary information indicates the rider was traveling eastbound on the highway, a popular route in the Black Hills, and was passing a group of motorcycles. When she entered a sharp curve, she lost control, became separated from her motorcycle, and slid off the road.

The woman was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. She was taken to a Rapid City hospital where she died from her injuries.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
