RAPID CITY, S.D. – Pennington County Treasurer Annette Brant announced that a 24/7 drop box for property tax payments is now open earlier than in past years. The drop box, located in the County Administration Building at 130 Kansas City Street in Rapid City, will be available until midnight on October 31.
Property owners in the Black Hills and throughout South Dakota have until October 31 to submit the second half of their annual property tax payments. Payments postmarked or dropped off after the deadline will be subject to interest.
For those in the western part of Pennington County, the Wall Satellite Office will be open for payments on Wednesday, Oct. 1, and again on Oct. 15 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., weather permitting.
The drop box at the Rapid City administration building is located inside the main entrance on the Kansas City Street side and is clearly marked for “Property Taxes.” Payments made via the drop box should include the tax ID number and a current phone number. Receipts will be mailed to those who request one.
Other payment options for Pennington County residents include:
- In-person payments at the County Administration Building, Monday through Thursday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
