RAPID CITY, S.D. – The City of Rapid City Parks and Recreation Department is hosting the third event in its Sensory-Friendly Swim Series, which is designed for people with sensory or adaptive needs. The event will be held this Sunday at the Roosevelt Park Swim Center’s leisure pool from 9-11:30 a.m.

The series aims to provide a quieter swimming environment for individuals who may be sensitive to noise and other stimuli. According to a city press release, the events feature no music, no spray features, and no use of the water slides. Lifeguards will only use whistles in emergencies. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own sensory-friendly toys.

This is the third in a series of events hosted by the Rapid City Parks and Recreation Department. An additional session is scheduled for Saturday, October 11, from 6:30-8 p.m. at the Roosevelt Park Swim Center. For more information, contact the City of Rapid City Parks and Recreation Department.
