STURGIS, S.D. – South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley chose his hometown of Sturgis to officially kick off his campaign for Congress.

He officially announced his run for U.S. House of Representatives Tuesday night at the Loud American.

His official announcement has long been expected. Jackley says he sees opportunity in serving the state in congress.

Jackley spoke about his priorities and what he feels needs to be addressed by the federal government, including agriculture.

With Representative Dusty Johnson running for governor in 2026, Johnson’s seat is up for grabs, and for Jackley, making this announcement only a few miles away from the farm he grew up on was important to him.
