NORTH SIOUX CITY, S.D. – The Rapid City Stevens boys’ soccer team secured a dominant 11-1 victory over Dakota Valley Saturday in a game where the Raiders’ offensive power was on full display. The second-ranked team in the state, from the heart of the Black Hills, improved their season record to 7-1-1.
The Raiders, playing their fifth game in eight days, showed no signs of fatigue, scoring five goals within the first eight minutes of the match. Eight different players contributed to the final tally.
Leading the charge was Ravi Moreland with a hat trick. Miles Wright scored two goals and had two assists. Matthew Grubic also tallied a pair of assists. Other goal scorers for Stevens included Josh Mueller, Alex Peck, Carson Pressley, Mitchell Wudtke, Charlie Green, and Creed Tennyson.
Specialty kicks also proved successful for the Raiders. Moreland and Green each converted a penalty kick, while Tennyson scored on a free kick. Mueller added a goal on a header from a corner kick.
Dakota Valley’s lone goal came from Charlie Bomgaars in the 72nd minute. Panthers’ goalkeeper Garrett Hanson was under constant pressure, recording 17 saves throughout the contest.
