RAPID CITY, S.D. – Trav’s Outfitter, a well-known name in work and western footwear and apparel, is opening a new location in Rapid City, marking an expansion of its South Dakota footprint. The 33,000-square-foot store is located in the Dakota Market Square development at 413 N Cambell Street and will open Monday, Sept. 8, at 8 a.m.
Owned by Travas Uthe of Watertown, the company has been in business for more than 20 years. The new store in the Black Hills community will feature a wide selection of products for ranchers, construction workers and outdoor enthusiasts.
According to Uthe, the company’s focus is on providing a different kind of retail experience. The company prioritizes fit, function, and long-term value, and understands the needs of hardworking individuals, he said.
The new store has created approximately 40 new jobs in the community and will be managed by Rapid City native Dusty Hirsch. Trav’s Outfitter is committed to hiring and training local staff to be experts in their field.
A grand opening celebration is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 7, which will include special promotions and activities to celebrate the new location.
