RAPID CITY, S.D. – There were two major projects up for a vote at Tuesday’s Rapid City Council meeting.
The Rapid Cit Sports Complex and proposed Liberty Land Amusement Park had to go back to the council after their previous vote was nullified following a publishing error.
Community members provided input on the two proposed ideas as well as the Tax Increment Finance District’s being born to help pay for them.
For over an hour and a half, many community members spoke for and against the projects and gave their opinion on what it would mean for the city.
The Liberty Land TIF passed on a 7-2 and the sports complex passed on an 8-1 vote.
