RAPID CITY, S.D. – A Rapid City man was arrested Thursday after police said he fired a handgun at a pickup truck during a road rage incident. The shooting occurred near 5 Knollwood Drive around 5:30 p.m.
Rapid City Police Department officers were in the area when they heard a single gunshot. Police saw a man, later identified as Nathanael Ivan Stabber, 25, pointing a handgun at a pickup truck. Officers ordered Stabber to drop the weapon, and he complied. He was then detained.
Police determined the shooting was the result of a road rage incident that ended on E. Knollwood Drive. The pickup truck was damaged by the single gunshot, but no injuries were reported. The handgun was recovered at the scene.
Stabber was arrested for aggravated assault and discharge of a firearm at a motor vehicle. He was transported to the Pennington County Jail. He is held on charges of aggravated assault and discharge of a firearm at a structure or motor vehicle. Stabber has a court date scheduled for Friday morning.
