South Dakota Board of Regents FY27 Budget Request Focused on Strategic Priorities

BROOKINGS, S.D. — During the July 2025 meeting, the South Dakota Board of Regents (BOR) reviewed the FY27 budget request for the state’s public university system, emphasizing strategic investment in infrastructure, technology, and student affordability.

The request, shaped by collaborative input from campus leaders and the central office, reflects a targeted approach designed to align with anticipated state budget constraints.

“We recognize the fiscal realities facing our state, and this budget request is a focused, forward-thinking plan to preserve core infrastructure, protect access for students, and advance academic innovation,” said BOR Executive Director Nathan Lukkes.
