Rapid City, SD – Post 22 Hardhats 2025 kept their momentum rolling on Sunday afternoon, taking care of business with an 8-2 win over Hauptman O’Brien Post 339 18U. Behind strong pitching, aggressive base running, and clutch hits, the Hardhats were locked in from the start.
Wyatt Reeder got the game started in the first inning with a single to the left side that drove in a run. Jace Morgan followed that up with a sacrifice fly to give Post 22 an early 2-0 lead.
The bats didn’t cool down. In the second, Aiden Roberts ripped a single down the left field line to tack on another run. Roberts finished the game with two hits, two RBIs, and three stolen bases. He was electric all day.
On the mound, Broeden Sales opened with a hitless first inning, striking out two. After that, it was a true team effort on the hill, with Carter Johnson, Lars Kieffer, Reeder, and Morgan all coming in to keep Hauptman O’Brien quiet. The Hardhats’ pitching staff gave up just two runs total.
Post 22 racked up 10 hits in the game. Kieffer, Roberts, and Dexter Steen each had two hits, while Roberts and Morgan led the team with two RBIs apiece. The defense stayed sharp too, turning a clean double play.
After the game, Head Coach Kelvin Tore said, “I’m very pleased with the way the boys came out and competed. We swung the bats really well, and I’m very happy with how things turned out today. But now it’s playoff time, so we’re gonna really have to keep our competitive edge if we’re going to get anywhere in the playoffs.”

For Hauptman O’Brien, Manny Reyes was the bright spot, going 1-for-2 with two RBIs. The rest of the lineup struggled to find much rhythm, combining for just four hits on the day.
With playoffs right around the corner, Post 22 looks like a team hitting its stride at the perfect time.
