Meade 46-1 School Board takes care of annual business at Monday night meeting

STURGIS, S.D. – The Meade 46-1 School Board met for their July meeting Monday night and selected President and Vice-President to serve for the next term.

Justin Jutting will serve as President and Aaron Odegaard will serve as Vice-President.

The board also tackled a number of organizational items, including designating meeting times, board policy, bus routes for the upcoming year and official depositories.

In business items, the board approved Harlow’s bus service contract with the district. Harlow’s contract rates show a 3-percent increase effective July 1. General School Transportation is now $4.36 per mile.

The board also approved food service prices for the upcoming year, which up a bit as well. The proposed food service meal prices for the 2025-26 school year are $3.65 for K through 8th grade and $3.95 for 9th through 12th grade.

And, the board gave approval to the agreement from the City of Sturgis in the amount of $67,500.00 for the district to purchase the Woodle Field Lot of Northside Addition.
