RAPID CITY, SD—City crews are on scene of four water line breaks during the noon hour Wednesday.
By late morning, water line breaks are reported in the following areas:
• The 1000 block of E. Chicago Street with one house and three businesses without water service at the present time. Crews will be working through the day to restore service.
• The corner of E. Tallent Street and Michigan Avenue with six apartments out of water service. Crews will be working through the day to restore service.
• As previously announced earlier this morning by the City, a water line break affecting the 100 and 200 blocks of E. Adams Street with approximately 20 apartments and one business without water service. Estimated repair time is mid-afternoon Wednesday (today).
• Also previously announced earlier this morning by the City, a water line break on the 2100 block of Jane Street, affecting water service to nine homes. Estimated repair time is mid-afternoon Wednesday (today)
There are no traffic restrictions in these areas, however drivers are advised to use caution in the affected areas. City officials indicate aging infrastructure and higher summer volume demands by customers are likely the cause for this morning’s distribution issues.
Updates will be provided when available.
