RAPID CITY, S.D. – A vehicle fire on Saturday, June 28, ended uniquely when the burning SUV was driven directly to a Johnson Siding Volunteer Fire Department station. The incident occurred around 4:30 p.m.
The driver and passengers of the flaming vehicle brought it to Station #2, where volunteer firefighters were able to immediately begin extinguishing the blaze upon their arrival. No injuries were reported in connection with the incident.
After the fire was safely out, a local tow company removed the charred vehicle. The quick thinking of the vehicle’s occupants helped contain the situation and preventing a potential roadside hazard.
