RAPID CITY, S.D. – A candidate who lost a race for Rapid City Area School’s Board of Education by just three votes says the election was mishandled.

Brian Johnson lost to Jamie Clapham 546 to 543.

Johnson has told area media he received a cease-and-desist letter from two members in RCAS leadership and claims voters in Meade County were not included in voter rolls.

RCAS on Wednesday initially announced a recount in the race would take place Thursday, but postponed it with a new date yet to be determined.
