DEADWOOD, S.D. – National and state agricultural events get underway today in the Black Hills.

R-CALF USA is hosting its 2025 National Convention and Trade Show, themed “All In,” from June 17-19.

And the 2025 South Dakota Governor’s Agricultural Summit is also taking place in Deadwood today and tomorrow.

State Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources Secretary Hunter Roberts says the first day includes a full lineup of speakers and presentations.

Roberts says Alan Hojer with the South Dakota Ag Foundation will share details about their “Keep Farmers Farming” program.

The second day of the Ag Summit will include a tour focusing on forestry management from tree growth to finished product.

Meanwhile, highlights at the RCALF convention include mandatory country of origin labeling for beef; tariffs and tariff rate quotas, overturning the mandatory electronic identification rule; reforming the mandatory beef checkoff program; and supporting and finanlizing Packers and Stockyards Act rulemakings.

The R-CALF convention is at The Lodge and the Governor’s Ag Summit at the Mountain Grand, both in Deadwood.
