RAPID CITY, S.D. — Former NFL wide receiver Jace Davis is bringing his love of football and mentorship to the Black Hills as part of the upcoming Pro Elite 605 Football Camp and 7-on-7 Tournament, taking place June 20–22 at Sioux Park in Rapid City.

Hosted by Brandon Jones on The Brandom Podcast, Davis shared stories from his time in the NFL, his journey from Denver East High School to playing with teams like the Baltimore Ravens and Houston Texans, and what drives his passion to give back through youth sports. “Football taught me discipline, focus, and gave me an opportunity to grow,” Davis said. “Now, I want to pass that on to the next generation.”

The Pro Elite 605 camp is open to students in grades 3 through 12, with participants grouped by age to ensure focused skill development and safe play. The camp will feature agility drills, position-specific coaching, and a 7-on-7 tournament for each age group. The camp’s mission is to challenge young athletes while providing tools to help them compete, grow, and dream bigger.

Alongside Davis, several former NFL athletes and trainers will coach at the event, including Walter Powell (formerly with the Bills, Jets, and Cardinals), Jeremy Butler (Baltimore Ravens), and David Irons, a veteran NFL trainer who has worked with over 300 NFL players and co-founded Florida’s Sandlot 7-on-7 program.

“These kids need exposure, competition, and mentorship,” said Shannon from Pro Elite 605. “Our goal is to raise the bar for local youth and give them a chance to see what’s possible with discipline and effort.”

Pro Elite 605 is also inviting coaches of all levels, from flag football to high school, to attend a special coaches clinic hosted by Irons. “We want to build a network,” said Davis. “Camps like these bring communities together—kids, coaches, and parents—all in the name of development and support.”

In addition to skill-building, the camp offers extras like T-shirts, meals, and group discounts for full 7-on-7 teams. Scholarships are also available to ensure cost isn’t a barrier for dedicated athletes. “If there’s a kid out there who wants to be there but can’t afford it, we’ll make it happen,” said Shannon.

Elsie Williams, a sophomore at Rapid City Christian, is helping with camp registration and shared her excitement to be part of something that supports local kids. “It’s cool to be part of something that could really make a difference,” she said.

Whether you’re aiming for a college scholarship or just want a fun weekend of football, the Pro Elite 605 camp is ready to inspire and elevate athletes of all backgrounds.

“Even if football isn’t their future,” said Jones, “this camp could light a fire that shapes their path—in sports or life.”
