RAPID CITY, S.D. – Rapid City Police are investigating a weekend incident in which a man sustained a bullet wound to his foot.
Police were dispatched to 1720 N. 7th Street on Sunday and rendered emergency first aid to the man until he could be transported to the hospital.
Police say they have received conflicting witness statements about where the shooting occurred and how the shooting happened.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the incident.
Meanwhile, police are also looking into two incidents involving gunshots over the weekend.
The first incident sent police to Atlas Street for a report of a gunshot.
The reporting party stated they had heard the gunshot and located a bullet hole on the floor of their apartment. No injuries were reported as a result of the gunshot.
On arrival, police attempted to make contact with the adjacent apartment to ensure there were no injured parties inside. Entry was forced into the apartment and no one was located inside. The case in under investigation.
On Sunday night police responded to 220 College Avenue for a report of gunshots heard in the area.
It was reported a dark-colored passenger vehicle pulled up to the address and fired several shots.
Another witness stated it was a pedestrian who fired shots at the vehicle. The area was searched and no shell casings were located.
No injuries have been reported to police as a result of the incident, and police continue to investigate the report.
