Man Hospitalized After Early Morning Shooting in Rapid City

RAPID CITY, S.D. – A Rapid City man was hospitalized with a gunshot wound to his foot after an early morning incident on June 1. His injuries are described as serious but not life-threatening.

At approximately 2:00 a.m. Saturday, Rapid City police were dispatched to 1720 N. 7th Street for a report of an adult male who had sustained a bullet wound. Officers provided emergency first aid until a medical unit arrived.

The man was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Investigators are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting, as police reported receiving conflicting witness statements about where the incident occurred. A detective has been assigned to the case for further investigation.
