SPEARFISH, S.D. – Even though Spearfish Sasquatch iLB collected nine hits to Fremont Moo iLB’s eight, they still fell 9-5 on Friday at 350 W Hwy 14, Spearfish, SD 57783. Giovanni Mastrorosa led Spearfish Sasquatch iLB with three hits.
Spearfish Sasquatch iLB were the first to get on the board in the first when an error scored one run.
Fremont Moo iLB captured the lead, 3-1, in the top of the second when Preston Gajewski drew a walk, scoring one run, and Carter Schellsmidt grounded out, scoring two runs.
Spearfish Sasquatch iLB tied the game in the bottom of the second thanks to a double by Mastrorosa, and a sacrifice fly by Ethan Mooser.
Fremont Moo iLB jumped into the lead in the top of the third when Rob Hodges drew a walk, scoring one run, Gajewski singled, scoring two runs, and Schellsmidt singled, scoring one run.
Grant Rychnovsky earned the win for Fremont Moo iLB. The hurler surrendered five hits and one run over four innings, striking out three and walking two. Aden Brothers pitched four and one-third innings in relief for Spearfish Sasquatch iLB. The pitcher surrendered four hits and one run while, striking out four and walking none. Caleb Hoppe took the loss for Spearfish Sasquatch iLB. The righty went two and two-thirds innings, surrendering seven runs on two hits, striking out three and walking six. Chase Nelson started on the bump for Fremont Moo iLB. The starter surrendered two hits and three runs (two earned) over two innings, striking out one and walking two.
