STURGIS, S.D. – Candidates running for the Meade 46-1 School Board participated in a candidate’s forum Tuesday night.
The forum was an opportunity for the public to meet the candidates running in the upcoming school board election, which is set for Tuesday, June 3rd.
Candidates running for three open 3-year term seats are Lee Spring, Justin Jutting, Sandy Cass, Charles Wheeler, Ron Hays and Tim Amdahl. Tom Schneller is running un-opposed for a one year term.
Among the topics discussed were school expansion, cell phones in the classroom, whether or not the 10 commandments should be posted and taught in the district’s schools, and teacher retention.
Each candidate also got time to explain why they are running and why they fell people should vote for them.
