RAPID CITY, SD — Mayor Jason Salamun made a proclamation during the biweekly meeting of the City Council on Monday, in which he declared a citywide “Public Works Week” in honor of the public works officials of Rapid City, such as sanitation, repair and snow removal workers.

“We have a lot of folks– hundreds of folks who work in our public works area, they fix your streets and remove your snow. They pick up your garbage, they make sure you have clean water, they make sure sanitation works okay, they help solve problems whenever there’s a billing issue. They engineer structures to make sure this is a safe community for all.” said Salamun, who gave thanks to these essential workers and stated his honor in being able to give the proclamation.
