Rapid City, SD – The South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks (GFP) announced Friday the identification of a major sponsor for the South Dakota Shooting Sports Complex. The facility, which will be located north of Rapid City, will be named after Pete Lien & Sons, Inc.

GFP Department Secretary Kevin Robling expressed enthusiasm for the project. “We are extremely pleased with all of the support and excitement for the shooting sports complex and our Second Amendment rights in South Dakota,” Robling said in a statement. “We want to thank all of our partners and everyone who has contributed to the complex, and we cannot wait to celebrate with them.”

Several other organizations have also partnered in the development of the complex. Major partners include Smith & Wesson, Glock, Aimpoint, Coca-Cola Bottling Company High Country, Scull Construction, SD Youth Hunting Adventures, and the Greater Dacotah Chapter of the Safari Club International.

Located on four-hundred acres in the Black Hills region, north of Rapid City, the Pete Lien & Sons Shooting Sports Complex aims to be a premier firearms range in the area. The state-of-the-art facility will feature multiple shooting ranges for various disciplines, including long range, action shooting, pistol, shotgun, law enforcement training, and archery.

According to the GFP, the complex will also offer educational programs and training for all skill levels, facilities for competitions and community events, and a focus on safety and responsible firearm use.

John Kanta, GFP Section Chief and Project Lead, highlighted the complex’s broad appeal. “We are excited for the opportunities this complex is going to provide,” Kanta said. “Whether you are a competitive shooter, law enforcement officer, or just looking for a safe place to sight in your hunting rifle this complex will have something for you.”

The GFP emphasized that the complex will always offer opportunities for the general public free of charge. The Pete Lien & Sons Shooting Sports Complex, situated north of Rapid City in the Black Hills of South Dakota, is anticipated to be a significant addition to recreational and training resources in the region.
