Sustainable ag organization names directors

PARK RIDGE, IL โ€“ Two South Dakotanโ€™s have been named to U.S. Farmers & Ranchers In Action (USFRA) board of directors. The newly elected directors are:

  • Randall Dodds, senior vice president and general merchandising manager for Tractor Supply Company.
  • Tina Jennen, executive director of Sisseton-Wahpeton Oyate (People) of the Lake Traverse Reservation, which spans North and South Dakota.
  • Terry Quam, a member of the Cattlemenโ€™s Beef Board, who runs Marda Angus Farms, an Angus seedstock operation in Lodi, Wisconsin.
  • Chad Schooley, a director with South Dakota Soybean, whose family owns and operates Cabin Still Cattle Company in Castlewood, South Dakota.
  • Corey Geiger, lead dairy economist for CoBank (advisor)

โ€œEach of our new board members brings incredible leadership abilities and a deep passion for agriculture,โ€ USFRA Chair Michael Crinion said. โ€œThey will help guide USFRA as we collaborate with the ag value chain to help solve some of the worldโ€™s greatest challenges, including nourishing a growing population, sustaining livelihoods, and providing ag resources for an energy transition, all while reducing our impact on the planet.โ€

USFRA also elected its executive committee for the coming year, including farmer Michael Crinion of Edge Dairy Farmer Cooperative, chair; farmer Chip Bowling of Maryland Grain Producers Association, vice chair and treasurer; farmer Marilyn Hershey of Dairy Management Inc., immediate past chair; Doug Berven of POET, secretary; and Julie Fussner of Culverโ€™s.

Tim Faveri of Nutrien, Dr. Marcus Bernard of the National Society forย Minorities in Agriculture, Natural Resources and Related Sciencesย (MANRRS), and Dr. Justin Ransom of Tyson Foods were re-elected to USFRAโ€™s board, as was Jennifer Crall of Bayer Crop Science as a board advisor.
