Scooper Softball drops a pair of games Friday to Harrisburg, Tea Area

HARRISBURG, S.D. – The Sturgis Scooper Softball team dropped a pair of games against East River teams Friday.

In their game of the day, the Scoopers lost to Harrisburg 17-7.

Avreigh Long hit a pair of home runs and drove in six for the Scoopers, but the Tigers were too much and got the five-inning win.

In their second game, the Scoopers lost a heart-breaker 4-3 to the Tea Area Titans.

Sturgis outhit Tea nine to seven with Long and Emerson Gardner each collecting two hits for the Scoopers in the loss.

Sturgis is 4-3 on the season and play Sioux Falls Lincoln and Sioux Falls Jefferson today (Saturday).
