Rapid City – Teagen Smith is the recipient of a $2,000 scholarship being sponsored by the South Dakota Association of County Highway Superintendents. The scholarship is being funded by an endowment sponsored by the SDACHS. The endowment was made possible by funds raised at the National Association of County Engineers annual convention held in Rapid City, SD in 1998.
The purpose of the endowment is to encourage the pursuit of higher education, draw awareness to the
association and better educate the public on highway safety in work zones, seat belt usage, and distracted or
impaired driving.
Teagen is a Senior at Rapid City Stevens High School and is the son of Sean and Erin Smith. He is actively involved in wrestling and baseball. He will attend North Dakota State College of Science, majoring in Construction Management Technology in the fall and has committed to play baseball for the NDSCS Wildcats.
