BELLE FOURCHE, S.D. – Belle Fourche hosted the Center of the Nation Track and Field Meet on Wednesday.
On the men’s side, Thomas Hughes of Spearfish was a double-event winner, as the Spartan captured both the 100 and 200 meter dash.
Gavin Pearson of Belle Fourche brought home first place in the 400 meters and Wyatt Balliew of Douglas captured the 800 meters.
In the relay races, Custer won the 4×100 meters and the 4×800 meters, Belle Fourche won the 4×200 meters, and Douglas took the 4×400 meters.
In field events, Dalyn Dschaak of Sturgis got second in the javelin with Custer’s Roland Sedlacek taking first.
On the women’s side, Jordyn Larsen of Custer won the 100 meters, Mya Nowowiejski of Belle Fourche captured the 200 meters, Kaelyn Knudson of Douglas won the 400 meters, Lia Mundt of Belle Fourche won the 800 meters and Peyton VanDeest of Spearfish took the 1,600 meters.
In the relay races, Custer won the 4×100, Lead-Deadwood won the 4×200, Spearfish won the 4×400 and Harding County claimed the 4×800.
Danica Dschaak of Sturgis won the high jump.
