RAPID CITY, S.D. – A Rapid City woman has been charged with first – degree manslaughter in connection with the stabbing death of her mother.
According to Rapid City Police Department, 26-year-old Taylor Bird Horse got into a fight with her mother, 45-year-old Kari St. John, at a North Maple Avenue apartment on April 7.
Three days later, April 10, police were called to Monument Hospital for a report of a woman who died from the infection of a stab wound.
After speaking with St. John’s daughter, Bird Horse, police searched the North Maple Avenue apartment where they found the knife they say was used in the altercation. Following an April 14 autopsy that confirmed a stab wound and subsequent infection, police arrested Bird Horse.
Bird Horse is being held in the Pennington County Jail on a $75,000 bond.
