RAPID CITY, SD — On April 10th, police were dispatched following the death of Rapid City resident 45-year-old Karri St. John. St. John, who had died while hospitalized for a knife wound sustained on the 7th reported her daughter as the aggressor in this attack, stating that the attack happened within her home.
The Rapid City Police Department goes on to explain the investigation following, saying “Detectives spoke with her daughter, identified as 26-year-old Taylor Bird Horse of Rapid City, and a search warrant was obtained for the apartment where the stabbing occurred. During the search of the apartment, police recovered the weapon believed to have been used in the stabbing incident. On April 14th, an autopsy was performed in the ongoing investigation. The autopsy confirmed the presence of a stab wound which resulted in a severe infection, leading to the death of St. John”.
The suspect was then located on the 14th where she was charged with First Degree Manslaughter, before being taken into custody at the Pennington County Jail, where she awaits trial.
